“A Call to Prayer” August 25th

As we look back in time, GCMM held its first Mega City Campaign in Odesa, Ukraine, amid a Russian military invasion in the region in 2014. In the years that followed, GCMM chaplains took it upon themselves to minister to frontline Ukrainian soldiers and civilians in the conflict areas.

In 2022, when Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, GCMM teams were in the throes of conducting a war zone evangelism campaign. Subsequently, they stepped in to assist with the massive evacuations from Mariupol and other war zone areas. GCMM’s efforts did not go unnoticed with its ongoing humanitarian aid on a massive scale that ensued—through GCMM partners and supporters… like you.

The office of the President of Ukraine has invited Hannu Haukka, the Executive Director of GCMM’s UkraineAid, to participate in the National Prayer Breakfast, which is being held on August 25th, in Kyiv. The event, hosted by President Zelensky, is by invitation only, and participants are being screened by state security agencies.

“A Call to Prayer Day” on behalf of the country of Ukraine and its people, is not only a national day of prayer within its borders, but they are encouraging people everywhere, in all countries, to pray. Eastern Ukraine has been occupied for over 3 years. God’s intervention is what we are praying for. Ukraine needs a lot of intercessory prayer as it battles for its independence and for its children who are under this great threat.

Pray with us:

Thank you, dear heavenly Father, that in the face of all the challenges, we can raise our eyes toward the mountains from where our help comes.

Ukraine desperately needs you.

Lord, we want to declare that you still sit on the throne. And you rule. You have still been given all authority, all power, and you can and want to intervene in situations. Thank you that through prayer and supplication we can bring everything to you with thanksgiving, and we receive the peace that passes understanding that you have promised in your word.

Lord, thank you for being with everyone in Ukraine and close to those who are in trouble. Because of you, lives have been changed. Because of you, there is hope in the hopelessness that otherwise reigns.

Lord, thank you for advancing your kingdom as the gospel message continues to go out in Ukraine. Thank you that you are allowing me/us to be a part of your great commission, in bringing the lost, to a relationship with you.

Together, our prayers for Ukraine will join with countless others on August 25 and beyond.

May we be encouraged by the words of Jesus, “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” May we continue making disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. The Lord has sent us to reap the harvest for the kingdom of heaven. Together.
