Standing With Jewish Communities in Ukraine During the War
Through trusted local partners, GCMM is standing alongside Jewish communities affected by war, displacement, and uncertainty in Ukraine, Israel, and Europe.
The war in Ukraine continues to reshape the lives of its Jewish communities. Thousands have left their homes since 2022, seeking safety elsewhere in Europe or relocating to Israel. Many others have remained, living with the uncertainty, loss, and disruption that war brings into everyday life.
For those who remain, practical needs are real. Food, clothing, medicine, and other essentials matter. But so does something harder to measure: having people who remain close, listen, pray, and continue to walk alongside families when the crisis no longer feels temporary.
This is the work our longtime ministry partners in Ukraine continue to do.
Across the country, Messianic congregations have remained active despite bombardment, displacement, and economic hardship. They provide humanitarian assistance, maintain community life, care for children and older people, gather for Jewish holidays, and offer places where people can ask difficult questions about faith, suffering, and the future.
The work continues in cities deeply affected by the war.
In Kharkiv, a Bible school has remained active, teaching approximately 1,500 people, about half of them Jewish. In Lviv, Jewish festivals held during the war have brought hundreds of new people into relationship with the local congregation. In Zaporizhzhia, outreach has reached tens of thousands of people, with hundreds continuing in contact with the congregation.
The numbers show the reach. They do not describe the weight carried by the people behind them.
There are families separated across borders, young people whose plans have been interrupted, elderly people enduring war again in their lifetime, and parents trying to create stability for their children while living with uncertainty themselves.
Our partners meet people in that reality.
Prayer That Crosses Borders
Prayer is also connecting believers far beyond Ukraine.
Through Shomer TV, an international Messianic media ministry connected with our Ukrainian partners, Christian programming and prayer continue around the clock. Monthly 24-hour prayer gatherings have brought together believers from as many as 30 countries, including participants from GCMM.
For those serving in wartime, prayer and practical care belong together. Food may answer an immediate need. A visit may break isolation. Prayer can bring comfort and strength when circumstances themselves cannot yet be changed.
Standing Together
GCMM's Jewish ministry extends beyond Ukraine to Israel and communities across Europe.
The circumstances differ from place to place, but the commitment remains the same: to stand against antisemitism, serve people with dignity, strengthen trusted local relationships, provide practical care where it is needed, and share, with respect, the hope we have found in Jesus the Messiah.
We cannot remove the realities of war, displacement, or grief. But we can choose not to look away.
Please pray for Jewish communities in Ukraine, Israel, and Europe, and for the pastors, congregations, and ministry workers serving faithfully among them. Pray for protection, peace, and strength—and that those carrying the deepest burdens would know they are not alone.
