Four Years of War. Ukraine Still Needs Us.
On February 24, 2022, war broke out on the European continent, and the people of Ukraine were plunged into unimaginable suffering.
That same day reshaped GCMM’s ongoing mission work in Ukraine. When the first missiles struck Ukraine’s major cities, our evangelism campaign in Eastern Ukraine was already underway. In an instant, proclaiming the Gospel expanded to include emergency aid, evacuations, and efforts to save lives.
It is hard to receive the Gospel if you are homeless, hungry, freezing, or in danger of losing your life. That is why we could not stand by and watch. We did what we believed God was calling us to do.
“If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacks daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, keep warm and eat well,” but you do not give them what the body needs, what good is it?” James 2:15-16
We have stood alongside the people of Ukraine for four years. The chaplains we partner with continue to serve on the front lines. Since the war began, the outreach campaign books they use have been distributed in frontline villages—alongside food, medical supplies, wood-burning stoves, and other essential aid. We have remained present where the need is greatest.
The war continues. The destruction, losses, and trauma are immense. But in the darkness, we can still bring hope and healing to wounded souls.
A new trauma-care book has been completed, and its distribution has begun. Drawing on Psalm 23, it offers comfort and spiritual care to help heal deep wounds of the soul—an invaluable resource for the hundreds of thousands carrying lasting trauma from the war.
Your gift helps GCMM share the Gospel and deliver this trauma-care book to those who need it most.
Thank you for standing with us alongside a suffering nation and praying for peace.
