Ukraine Independence Day 2026

Today, as Ukraine marks its Independence Day, GCMM stands with the people of Ukraine in prayer for God's blessing, protection, and peace.

Independence Day is significant for any nation. For Ukraine, amid the realities of war, its meaning is especially profound. Independence is not simply a matter of history or a national celebration—it is a very real question of freedom, home, the future, and the right to live in one's own country.

Ukrainians have paid an enormous price for this freedom. So many have lost loved ones and homes or have been forced to leave their communities. Children and young people are growing up in a reality marked by air-raid sirens, shelters, and uncertainty about tomorrow. Yet even amid this suffering, hope remains.

Today, we especially remember those suffering because of the war—children and families, the elderly and the wounded, those who have lost their homes, and those grieving someone they love.

We pray for those who carry responsibility for the nation's future, and for all who are working toward peace, providing aid, and helping communities rebuild.

We pray that hope will not be extinguished in the midst of war. We pray for comfort for those who mourn, strength for the weary, healing for the wounded, and safety for children.

Above all, we pray for peace—for the day when families can be together again, children can sleep through the night without fear, and people can rebuild their lives and look toward the future with hope.

May God bless Ukraine. May God grant peace.

З Днем Незалежності, Україно! Нехай Бог благословить Україну!
