 ”Residents of Voronezh shall experience the power to change with full force during the Easter break!” Reported by the city’s largest daily newspaper Komsomolskaja Pravda. This quote was taken from Archimandrate Andre. Surprisingly, the Russian Orthodox Church has come alongside in support of the mega-city campaign. As we express awe about this positive development in the attitude of the Orthodox Church, we can see a possible new door of opportunity that will enable us to reach Russia’s mega-cities with still greater effectiveness. At the very least the mission team welcomes this complete change of attitude. The director of the mission team in Voronezh, Pastor Vjatseslav Oleini, says that the whole city is buzzing with excitement because of the campaign. Our specially produced TV programs are airing on most of the major TV channels in Voronezh. At the same time our giant billboard ads are up throughout the city. People can read stories in the daily newspapers of locals who have found salvation and received the power to change. T h i s campaign is tremendously effective. We have over 16,000 names and addresses from people responding to the call for spiritual help and counselling. Pastor Oleini saw over 350 people receive salvation and join his congregation during the campaign in April. Not one of these had previous knowledge of spiritual matters or faith in God. The phone lines at the call center are constantly ringing. On my recent visit there I listened in on the conversations taking place on the phones. My heart filled with joy and praise to the Lord as I heard how the counsellors led the callers to accept God’s grace and salvation and taught them the basic steps to life in Christ. I believe that every call that came in caused a great jubilation in the heavens. I thanked God for all of our partners who have joined us with their support and prayers to make this campaign possible in Voronezh and in the next cities of Russia. Now is the time to do His work.
