RELATED STORIES

NRB (National Religious Broadcasters) is an organization that represents Christian media from around the world. Members include Christian radio, television and Internet broadcasters.

GCM Ministries' founder and president, Hannu Haukka, was appointed in February as the chairman of the International Committee—the first non-US member to receive such an appointment in the organzations 60-year history.

"This was a pleasant suprise to me," says Haukka. "The whole team at GCM Ministries and I want to do our best to serve [the NRB in this way]. Our prayer is to be a positive influence and inspiration in casting a vision for effectively reaching this generation with the Gospel."

Media ministry is changing

"The way we do evangelism—including media evangelism—is changing all the time," observes Haukka, noting that the world is getting smaller because of the growth in mass media.

"Our world has, in effect, shrunk to a 'global village,' transcending many boundaries—including language and political boundaries. For example, we can connect with people around the world quickly, influencing them in an instant through the Internet. This is new for our generation, and we need to realize how we can adapt to these new developments to fulfill the Great Commission."

Testimonies

From Arab Emirates...

"I’m Muslim and I want to know the truth. I like everything that you offer in your webpages, it has touched my heart. My family is fanatically Islamic and everything I hear about Christians is very bad. At the time I live in Arab Emirates. I begin to know the truth from your internet pages. It’s difficult around here to get to your web pages because the government tries to prevent it. Please help me!"
