Please join with us as we look ahead to great victories in Christ in 2012
Eleven mega city campaigns are planned for Russia, Central Asia, Nepal, Iraq and India.
But why do we put so much emphasis and effort in reaching cities for Christ?
Simply put when we do the math we see that the majority of the people living in the industrialized world and developing nations, for whom Jesus Christ died, are packed into cities. It is crucial for the fulfillment of the Great Commission that these people are the focus of our prayers and a carefully thought out strategy.
Think about it! For the first time in history over 50% of the world population live in cities. By the year 2020 that figure will be 75%. Cities are the number one challenge for missions today.
There are 433 cities the population of which is over 1 million. Most of these cities are not located in the industrialized world. A steadily growing number are located in nations that have no Christian heritage. Great Commission Media Ministries has used this high-impact media campaign strategy in 59 cities to date in 11 countries of Russia, Asia, Europe, Middle East, Israel. It incorporates stories of changed lives to blanket an entire city with the Gospel of Jesus Christ using a “symphony of media” proclaiming the message that “God gives you the power to change” simultaneously through all available local media for a 30-day period.
GCM Ministries mega city campaigns to date
• Over 130 million people have been reached with the Gospel • Over 500,000 telephone calls logged through the call centers in 11 countries • Over 1.5 million special 100-page campaign books distributed • Church growth reported in all cities
Food and Clothing to Russia's Orphanages, Children's Prison Camps and Detention Centers
Through this year GCM Ministries will also visit six children's prison camps in Russia engaging the help of local churches to deliver supplementary nutrition and clothing packages to children in special needs institutions and to those incarcerated in children's detention centers and prison camps. Please pray for and support this crucial outreach as we reach out to Russia's forgotten and rejected children.
We are ready to go to the following seven institutions:
• City of Mozhaiskaya girl’s prison camp #5
• City of Tomsk girl’s prison camp
• Perm province Kalinin children's correctional center
• Ramensky municipality correctional center for orphans and abandoned children
• Smolensk province children's home
• Moscow region municipal educational center for orphans and abandoned children
• Kaluga province boarding school for mentally handicapped children
There are an estimated 20,000 children in children's prison camps and detention centers in Russia, plus special needs schools. Most have no parents so they end up living in the streets committing petty crimes to fill their stomach with food.
Please pray for these children and help support this outreach. A $75 gift provides a child with a complete set of warm winter clothing. $110 will provide food and clothing. These children receive spiritual mentoring from church volunteers through continuing ministry.
