India is the second largest nation in the world with a total population of over one billion. GCM Ministries has initiated TV production to reach 400 million children in India.
A mega city evangelistic campaign has just finished in the fourth largest city in India, Chennai (formerly Madras) May. Chennai and its surrounding areas has and estimated population of 8.2 million people. This is the largest mega city campaign to date that GCM Ministries has coordinated.
During the campaign over 94,000 phone calls came into the call center where pastors and counsellors answered the phones.
In the third week of the campaign all the phone lines were cut to the call center by extremist Hindus. A few days later phone service was restored but was cut again. After another restoration of phone service the onslaught of calls kept coming in. People in India are hungry for the life-changing power to change that comes from God.
