There are about 1.4 billion Muslims in the World. That is approximately 21% of the world’s population.
The largest Islamic area is located between the 10 and 40 degree parallels known as the 10/40 Window, where 300 million people live. 80% of them have not heard the Gospel even one time. We want to facilitate Disciple making movements in every Arab and Muslim Country, which will eventually lead to the formation and growth of new churches in countries and areas where there are no churches. This is why our mission to reach them is so challenging.
Not all Arabs are Muslims. Christianity predates Islam in Arab nations and nominal Arab Christians are spread throughout Islamic countries and the world. There are Arabs everywhere who have not heard the Gospel message yet.
In Europe, the Islamic religion is growing at a rapid rate, mainly due to immigration. Right now, more than 40 million Muslims live in Europe and their numbers are increasing continuously.
The objective of Great Commission Media Ministries is to share the Gospel of our Lord Jesus with Arabs and Muslims wherever they might live. We want to reach the unreached so they too can know Jesus Christ as their Savior.
GCM Ministries is successfully evangelizing Arab and Muslim nations through satellite TV programs (number one means of receiving TV in the Middle East) and seven Internet websites, receiving 1 to 2 million hits every month. Also our Mega City Media Evangelism Campaigns have been adapted to the Arabic culture.
GCM Ministries has produced close to 2500 TV programs in many languages such as Arabic, Amharic, Somali, Farsi, and Urdu/Hindustani languages. These TV programs can be seen in the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, North America and Australia. Six satellite channels broadcast our programs, some of them every day. We invest heavily in the production of TV programs because television plays a significant role in families throughout Arabic and Islamic regions in the world. Every family, no matter how poor, has a TV and a satellite receiver. The Arab and Muslim World Missions Department of GCM Ministries produced 505 new TV programs at our ministry center in 2009 alone. The production team are highly desire to increase the productions to be multiplied in upcoming years.
Arab Christians in the Middle East cannot always meet openly, so our Arab and Islamic World Missions work also includes teaching and discipleship TV programming and web sites that provide discipleship and leadership training as well as media resources such as our TV programs and downloadable bibles.
GCM Ministries also distributes humanitarian aid as a part of our outreach to the Arab world.
Although we work mainly through the media, our mission teams also try to personally meet with Arab people and lead them to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We do street and event evangelism amongst Arabs living in Europe, We also arrange for newborn Christians to grow together with other Believers. We are called to make disciples in Jesus.
I was born in 1984. I became a fanatic Muslim. I tried to please God in all ways. I looked for the truth from Islam to find the purpose for my life. But I didn’t find it. I began to suspect the message that my religion declared and my religiousness started to crumble. I was disappointed. I became atheist. I started to do forbidden things to supply my needs. Anyway there was emptiness in my heart, my needs were not fulfilled. Eventually I begun to pray to God and I asked Him to tell me the answer to my question: "What is the truth?" I was serious and so God found me. This is how I found salvation and Christianity. Now two years have passed from the time I was born again. Right now I go through very difficult times in my life. I still walk ahead in faith. I ask you to pray for me.
